A Trans Man Walks Into a Gay Bar by Harry Nicholas

medium-paced

2.5

a book that could've been a blog post, very amateur-ish and felt like yet another middle class memoir that got published because it's easy and palatable to a cis audience. if you're gay and trans and live a gay and trans life sexually you're well beyond needing this book and can very much give it a pass because 90% of it is teaching you what being trans and gay is and how it works as though you're a cis ally learning about us for the first time. this author cannot seem to decide who his audience is

but hey he mentions Lou Sullivan so at least he's not completely hopeless

(only giving it a 2.5 purely out of politeness and maybe it'll mean something to a new trans gay who hasn't lived much of a life yet instead of those of us who have been there done that already)
