This is a book I have vowed for years to never read - it's one that has been constantly shoved in my face as one that everyone absolutely has to read before they die or else. So being as stubborn as I am, I said "right, I'll never read it then." And then Casey McQuiston had to go and make Jane Austen Prince Henry's favorite author. And seeing as I relate so much to Henry, I'm naturally now going to read every book Jane Austen ever wrote. Pride & Prejudice was a natural place to start.

I've seen both the 2005 film, and the 1995 BBC series, I don't know how many times. I already know and love the story so much. Elizabeth and Darcy are the OG enemies to lovers ship (which I think we all know at this point is one of my favorite tropes). They invented the trope. It was inevitable that I was going to love this book, as much as I love both the film and the BBC series.

I listened to the audiobook of this, with Emilia Fox narrating, and I can't have asked for a better narration. Emilia really brought this world and these characters to life.

While the short chapters did make me feel like I was flying through it, I've always been more of a long chapter kinda person. That's literally my only issue with this book, and it's not even really an issue at all, more a matter of personal preference.
