An Academy for Liars by Alexis Henderson

4.0

An Academy for Liars is one of those books that keeps you up way past bedtime because you just have to know what happens next. It’s set in this cutthroat academic world where lying isn’t just encouraged—it’s basically the curriculum. The concept alone is enough to pull you in, but it’s the sharp, twisty storytelling that makes it shine.

The main character is brilliantly flawed, navigating a web of manipulation and ambition with equal parts charm and cunning. And the supporting cast? Let’s just say everyone’s hiding something, and unraveling their secrets is half the fun.

The writing is smart and biting, with just enough dark humor to balance the heavier themes. That said, the story does lose a bit of momentum in the middle when it dives into backstory, but it picks back up and delivers a satisfying, if slightly dizzying, ending.

If you love dark academia with a side of moral ambiguity, this book is right up your alley. It’s a little chaotic, a little intense, and a lot of fun. Definitely worth the read!
