Rifts & Refrains by Devney Perry

5.0

Rifts and Refrains has everything that I go for in a book- second chance and single parent books are my jam, and when you add in rock stars, that just puts it over the top!

Quinn, the drummer for Hush Notes, and Graham, a single father, were high school sweethearts. Actually, they were more like soulmates, but Quinn left to pursue her dreams while Graham stayed behind, content with his life. Quinn leaving not only put a rift in her relationship with Graham, but also with her family, especially her father. Nine years later, Quinn returns home for the funeral of the only family member that she still keeps in touch with. This forces them all to face their part in the rift.

I absolutely love these characters! I could feel the tension that Quinn went through throughout the book when dealing with her family. I love the strength that she showed in following her dreams- and leaving the one she loved behind in the process. And I love Graham- the way he loves his son and family was inspiring!

Devney Perry has outdone herself with this book! The writing was spectacular! The emotions flowed throughout, and I cried in many parts~ it just felt so real!

I can't wait to read the other books in the Hush Note series~ Jonah's and Nixon's stories!
