To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn

dark emotional lighthearted relaxing sad fast-paced

4.0

Sir Phillip irked me to no other. How does Julia Quinn write such selfish pigs and I still gobble this up like it is candy? 👀

I really enjoyed Eloise's story. Penelope, her best friend, just got married and now Eloise is a spinster alone now. So when Sir Phillip, a recent widow, offers to marry her, she leaves town to see if he is someone she would marry. They didn't get on the right foot whatsoever.

Sir Phillip, is looking for a child caregiver more than a wife. You constantly see that throughout the story. It took him quite a while to realize, more like the last 10 pages, to realize that Eloise is more than a caregiver.

I know Eloise and Phillip have been corresponding for a year before they met up. But I wasn't really convinced of their love for one another. The impression I got was that Eloise was a really kind, gentle soul and was the one mending and repairing the relationship constantly. Phillip was always the one brushing his hands on the situation. Then miraculously got a change of heart for his kids and his wife. Took him long enough.

Gratefully this book did end on a good note and I did enjoy this story regardless.
