Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

5.0

This book has taught me a lot; from womanhood; love; suffering; perseverance; to superiority complex; aging; faith; identity and belongingness, etc. I still can’t seem to wrap my head around the happenings in this book. It’s also taught me that family is everything. This is one of my favorite historical fiction and I’m obsessed with it.

The writing was captivating and the story was an attention grabber. The writer did well n developing the characters. I still think about Isak and Noa. Sunja had a great impact on me. She was a stunning character. I adored every character.

One thing I liked about the book was how the writer was able to bring out the right emotions. Example was how he announced the death of favorite characters. There were happy moments and heartbreaking moments.

If you’re planning on reading Pachinko, I advice you take it slowly and with your whole heart
