White boys writing fantasy that absolutely slaps. What can you do?

Jokes aside, I get it. I get the hype for Sanderson. I get why his writing resonates with so many. It’s the perfect blend of showing and telling, the perfect amount of scenic detail without getting bogged down, the perfect way to describe action scenes. It’s the blueprint for basically every great fantasy book or fanfiction I’ve ever read. I can feel the Sanderson of it all after reading Mistborn. It’s great YA, even though I’d love a little bit more in terms of word choice and literary dressings. I don’t know how quickly I’ll continue the series, but this was absolutely the fastest I’ve breezed through a 600+ page book in a very long time. This snapped. It crackled. It popped.
