TLDR: If you're expecting this to be a thriller you will be disappointed.

While the beginning of the book does introduce the untimely death of the main character's husband very little of the book after that is about this death. Chapters 10-38 out of 48 chapters are almost entirely backstory of different characters and none of it relates to the aforementioned death. When it does finally return to the mysterious death it gets resolved rather quickly with minimal drama. There are a few "twists" but they are not surprising if you've been paying attention to the details in the book.

There are also many chapters that go into detail about one character's abusive childhood. It's not particularly fun or interesting to read about.

However it is well written. If you are more interested in a book about character exploration than a page turning thriller, you might like it.
