This felt a bit too Translation 101 for my taste—but I probably would've ate this up when I started my translation studies or when I was a younger. I did appreciate all the linguistic research involved, and there's some really fascinating ideas with silver-working, cognates, and meaning lost in translation. The book itself is too long, often repetitive, and I found that it didn't go as in-depth into the topics it tackles as I would've liked, but it's a gripping, fast read and the ending is quite affecting.
