Dukes of Peril by Angel Lawson, Samantha Rue

5.0

The RUIN of obsession, the MADNESS of love, and the PERIL of duty.

What a great ending!

Dukes of Peril did a great job of tying up all the loose ends and secrets that were revealed in the previous two books. There were things left open, however it looks as though these are things that will be part of future books.

What can I say about Lavinia. She’s a fighter who never gave up and kept on fighting for what she wanted. I still say Lavinia forgave Sy and Remy way too easily for what they did to her in book 2, but she also forgave Nick easily for what he did to her at the end of book 1. She should have made all of them suffer a bit more. There is a lot that happens between them that I can get through, but cheating, especially after the main characters have been intimate is a big no no for me, even though I did love the beat down the OW Haley got.

Watching her eventually opening up to her Dukes and allowing herself to be vulnerable with them was amazing to see.

And the Dukes.

We see Remy start counselling and get himself clean and get his head together even though he still talks in colours. Sy becomes the new King after executing Saul for everything he put them through, and we see Nick accepting his role as Sy's second easily. He never wanted to be King but would have stepped into the role if it would protect Lavinia, Sy and Remy.

We finally get the truth about what happened to Leticia (Lavinia's sister) and Tate (the Dukes best friend) the night they both died.

This book did have an epilogue, but not like the ending of the Lords series. The epilogue in this sets it up nicely for what is going to happen in the Princes books. Verity working as a spy for Lavinia and Story as the three of them have become really good friends. I won't say BFF's yet.

Bring on Verity and her Princes.
