This story is an addictive read, perfect for those who like me, enjoy reverse harem, sweet-yet-stalker romances, and found family dynamics.
The story introduces Amelia—a brilliant yet emotionally scarred FMC who grapples with self-doubt and isolation while navigating a male-dominated workplace and her struggles with self-harm (trichotillomania).
She becomes the beta tester for an invasive AI system designed by three complex tech engineers:
Oliver, the shy, empathetic tech lead with a penchant for goofy socks and Pride and Prejudice;
Misha, the sunny, chaotic “human side” of AI development who suffer from insomnia;
and Grey, the brooding, overbearing security lead with a soft spot for his grandpa’s dog, Peanut.
I really love the fact that Amelia is a genius and she represents also the fate of a lot of women in the tech world: underestimated, under-exploited and she pushes herself over to prove that she can do it. It’s as revolting as true.
