I adored World Running Down and Yours Celestially so I know that not only can Al Hess write but he can write well! This one did not hit the same, though, and I'm honestly a little devastated. I was so excited! A lot of the characters felt a little too flat, the pacing of the plot was sometimes odd, and the instalove between Denver and Ezra just didn't do it for me. By the end it picked up a bit and I did like the alien and sci-fi bits but the story as a whole just didn't have me all that invested.
