Water Under The Bridge by Kels Stone, Denise Stone

3.5-3.75ish ⭐️ (how I rate nooks posted in bio)

For a debut novel, I was really shocked by the quality of writing. It was super good & well written. The plot was also very, very good & played out really well throughout the book.

It was definitely a slow burn (which didn’t bother me at all just wanted to say it’s a slow burn with minimal spice bc obvi some ppl don’t love that). The writing & the plot is what truly brought me into the story, I just feel it was missing something & I can’t entirely place it.. but I think that for me I wasn’t entirely connected to the characters. There chemistry didn’t scream out for me, it almost just seemed more like a competitive friendship, but in a way I liked that it seemed to escalate their feelings slowly & not so insta-love ish style, Luca & Avery ended being super cute & even though he clearly had some communication issues (talked before thinking lol), he still did pretty much everything single-handedly with her in mind, which was very cute & sweet.

I will definitely continue to read the series, because I’m truly intrigued for the side characters that I’m hoping we’ll see with their own HEA. ;)
