so much happens that it is actually pretty intense. this is definitely more heavy hitting and emotional than the prior book, same with the romance. i’m glad we got to see alosas crew and more to do with her family. i still have a lot of questions, though. i can’t talk about too much as it would spoil events from the first book too but just to note, this duology (i know the third book follows sorinda and kearan so idk if it’s technically a duology?) is so worthwhile to read if you like pirates. it’s so fun and fast paced that you’ll forget you’re reading.
“I am an outsider. The life I could have had with all of you was taken from me, but I am here now by choice. Will you not choose to rally with me now? I braved the ocean for you. Will you brave land for your queen?”
Graphic: Cannibalism
