This was a lot younger in tone than I expected. I’d only seen the film so far and the vibe they used was definitely a lot more “epic fantasy adventure” than the book’s “wholesome children romping about in a magical country”. I adored the description of spring coming over winter, it was absolutely stunning.
I was a tiny bit annoyed by the “women aren’t supposed to go to war” and the “the witch is the daughter of satan” agenda, but alas C.S.Lewis was very catholic and very traditional, can’t really fault him for that.
Overall, was a cute read. I think my favorite part were the descriptions of nature, C.S.Lewis does those really well.
Moderate: Animal cruelty and Animal death
