Kerrigan is a half-fae who was abandoned and left at the steps of Draco Mountain, destined to be raised in the House of Dragons. At 17, each student is to be selected by one of the 12 tribes and enters into Society, but everything does not go as planned when none of the tribes select Kerrigan. Now, she is left to be accepted by one of the houses by the end of the Dragon Tournament or serve the House of Dragons for the rest of her life.

I was quickly pulled into Kerrigan's story and her relationship with her loyal friends & allies. I did not want to put the book down once I started. House of Dragons is an exciting first book in the Royal Houses series, and I can't wait to continue with the next book, House of Shadows. I also highly recommend the audiobook version. I am giving House of Dragons a rating of 4 / 5 Stars.
