Wow wow wow! I liked this way more than I thought I would! I had read half of this as a teen and stopped but I don't remember why. I finally picked it up again years later and I'm so glad I did! Solid beginning and end! The middle was slightly boring, in an "okay, let's get on with it" sort of way but it wasn't bad. I really liked how all the characters were introduced throughout. The ending was actually quite poignant yet inspiring for a young readers book. It encouraged reflection and introspection that I wasn't expecting. Very excited for the second one!
