The Trouble with Whiskey by Melissa Foster

5.0

Alright, Melissa! I am already eager to get back to Redemption Ranch! I was curious about it in previous books (Then Came Love) and even more interested when we met some of the Whiskeys there. The Trouble With Whiskey was so perfect. It was poignant, funny, and at times heartbreaking. But the story of Billie and Whiskey from childhood, strong family ties for both of them, the community around them, the struggles, the tragedy, and the healing go so well with the theme of Redemption Ranch. How people handle grief is different by the person; some have suitable coping mechanisms, while others may bury their grief with misplaced guilt or other emotions. Dare Whiskey is a dynamic character; while he is wild as can be, he's also one of the most sensitive and caring people you would want to meet. Those characteristics make his character even more memorable, making him such a good therapist. Billie has buried her grief and guilt deep down and is slowly letting it steal all the joy from her life. Dare takes on the challenge of getting her to let it go. Their story is hot, sweet, and filled with sunshine after a long time in the shadows. Melissa gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
