This book was very immersive. Despite the length, I felt very invested in the characters and read it very quickly. I didn’t think I’d be interested in 12th century church building, but I found it fascinating and it made me want to go to Europe (particularly Santiago de Compostela). I also enjoyed the opposing views of the Church and Christianity. The depictions of women’s bodies and sex were poor in my opinion.
