All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover

3.0

I really should've liked this book. I wanted to like this book. Hell, I am the target audience for this book. (tw: infertility) I should have been able to relate to every single line in here, but I didn't. I couldn't connect with either of the main characters at all. I'm still firmly in the "Colleen Hoover can do no wrong" camp, but this offering fell flat for me. The beginning was top-notch and super clever, but then it went south and never really came back. I was never invested in the story. What Colleen Hoover does REALLY well and what makes her books so universal is her ability to pull the reader in and make them relate to the characters. This was lacking in that area. There were a lot of good things- swoon-worthy dialogue, the most clever way two characters meet that I've read so far- but it was slow and hard to get through. Not my favorite book, but still probably my favorite author.
