A fantastic primer to Eastern Europe (even if you haven't read Cafe Europa), and, unexpectedly to me, general contemporary European political issues as well.
I read this when visiting my partner's family in Eastern Europe and heard some of the very same topics and arguments in this book framed in nearly identical ways within 15 minutes of reading the essays. Can't beat that for relevant!
