Roomies by Christina Lauren
4.0
Another day, another Christina Lauren book I devoured in less than 24 hours. When I got this eBook from my library for 14 days instead of 21, I was worried that I'd need to force myself to hurry up on the reading to make sure I didn't miss out. Of course, that wasn't the case.
As soon as I opened this book, the charm of Holland and Calvin immediately drew me in. You can read the synopsis and as much as I liked this book, it very much played out like the movie The Proposal. Holland made the ultimate sacrifice for her uncle and his beloved theatre once she brought him to see her favorite busker, Calvin.
Though this book was predictable, there were a few plot twists I was pleasantly surprised by that allowed it to vary from The Proposal. Overall, as much as I enjoyed the book and flew through it, if you've seen the movie, you'll likely have the same experience I did. This book is a quick read and easy to follow, but nothing to scream from the rooftops about.
Giving the book four stars because I didn't want to put it down, but taking off that star because it practically mirrored a movie made 8 years before the book was published.
