Grand Lies by J.C. Hawke

This story was kind of messy and hard to follow for the first part of the book. However, once I grew accustomed to the writers flow, I was very interested. It just wasn’t fully coherent but it is also her first book. And I’m not a writer so take that with a grain of salt.

There was a lot of sex. Not a bad thing but definitely the foundation of Nina and Mason’s relationship. They were super hot together. They didn’t communicate for shit but they were so drawn to the other.

Mason said the most horrible things to Nina. He was so reactive in his language towards her. Other than their sexual compatibility, there really wasn’t much for her to cling to. But he had passion. He felt for her so strongly he wasn’t in control of his emotions. They actually both seemed overwhelmed by their feelings abs unable to fully process the connection.

They never took a moment to breathe once they were together so it made sense the crash and burn was on the horizon.

There were twists and turns that kept me going. Plus, I really enjoy the side characters. They add so much to Mason and Nina’s story.
