in all seriousness this book was difficult but a good read. it was interesting to learn more about scottish history and issues. the characters were super complex and layered.
it is really hard to say what about the writing was so captivating but it made me feel so much for each character.
the only reason it’s not 5 stars was the way speech was written. it was written in the way a scottish person would say the words but it was hard for my brain to process.
