The Mall by S.L. Grey

3.0

An enjoyable story that just drags on for too long without getting anywhere. I feel this is one of those interminable stories that has promise as a single novel but is stretched out over multiple volumes. I don't know why authors think this is worth doing but personally when a novel comes to and in the middle of the narrative I am more inclined to abandon the series than continue reading.

Having checked out the reviews for the next couple of books it seems I was mistaken as each takes up a different approach and set of characters. So I guess that this book is justly poorly finished. I think it could really benefit from a good editor. Take off around 100 pages and re write the ending.

I think I will try a second in the series and put this down as a clumsy first novel.
