'A Caribbean Affair ' plays on unfamiliar ground. When Miss Marple takes ill, she is sent off to a Carribbean island where she is supposed to be recuperating. Obviously she finds it way to boring and gets involved in a murder mystery. Since this is my first time actually reading and not just watching a Miss Marple story, I can't really compare it to anything. I was basically looking for an easy distraction from a long hard week and that is what I got. The storytelling was easy to follow and fast, nothing too complicated for my worn out brain to comprehend. I was a bit surprised by how feminist Miss Marple actually is and how she uses people's sexist and ageist assumptions about her to her own advantage. Though be warned, that there are some uncomfortable passages concerning racism.
