Fright Court by Mindy Klasky

4.0

I am a huge fan of Klasky's witchy Jane Madison series, so when I saw this, I knew I would have to read it. After all, I enjoy a good vampire story that isn't full of bloody details.

This novel did not disappoint. Sarah Anderson was a fun character, one I met in 'Capitol Magic' and I was curious to see where Klasky would take her here. Could Sarah stand on her own in her own novel? Yes. Yes she can.

I enjoyed the pacing of this novel the most. I saved reading this for my treadmill/elliptical time because it helped me take my mind off the fact that I was sweating to death.

The overall plot was interesting - what happens when a human goes to work at the night court, a court set up to keep the paranormal in check? Well, we find out in this novel. And it's interesting...and funny...and delightful.

Sarah Anderson was well-developed as a character, but only IF I get another of her stories. I felt her story was unfinished. It could be a case of Klasky testing the writing waters to see if there is enough interest before writing another.

Well Klasky, I am waiting for more Sarah. A lot more.
