Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly

3.75

It’s mostly about racism in the 1930s through 1970s over the backdrop of the space race—an important story to tell and to make people aware of racism that still exists today. I love the references to white women as “girls” in the way Black and BIPOC women have historically been called “girls”. There are so many other quiet examples to teach the reader. Not an easy read.
