I was very excited to receive an ARC of this book through Rose & Star.
I loved the premise for this book, when I read the description I was all in for a sapphic Snow White retelling. I thought the authors did a great job of tying in small details from the original fairytale while still making it her own. I also saw that they are planning on doing more retellings, which they have already started to set up in this book.
The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because the plot wasn’t strong enough to keep me hooked. The book was very entertaining but the second half was very rushed. It felt like we strayed away from the whole competition to be queen and introduced a new story line just to move along Snow and Azura’s romance. I would still recommend this book and will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
