This was a very cozy listen. I can't tell you the last cozy book I read, and I'm glad this got me back into them. My heart goes out to Mika. So many times she was let down or taken advantage of, but she still remained a kind, sweet person. Jaime was...let down by his family (to say the least) and he became gruff and hard edged. They brought out the best in each other.

I like the take on witchcraft in the book. As I haven't read any cozy books in a while, it was nice not to see things taken so seriously. I like that they were outside collecting stardust. Terracotta was so annoying initially! She's a prime example of how children are sponges. She eventually comes around after a major accident in which Mika gets hurt. It shouldn't have come to that, but Jaime wouldn't listen.

I don't like the random sex scene in it. It was kinda fade to black, but it took me out of the moment. Actually, all the 'hard' parts too me out of it. Though, the book isn't all sunshine and rainbows. There are some hard subjects tackled here such as: familial abuse, being taken advantage of, being neglected, etc. However, they are woven so beautifully in the book it's not jarring in the slightest.

Read this book.
