This is my first time reading such a story, and while not what I expected I definitely enjoyed turning each page. There are definitely adult themes in the story, it is maybe teenager friendly, but the story was otherwise engaging; rich in mythos, the story has the characters in a world that can easily confuse the reader if they are not somewhat familiar with the mythology. The romance itself seemed to fall a little flat, so I won't be grabbing the sequel, but that may be the norm for this series and simply doesn't jive with me.
Definitely an interesting and enjoyable read, I would recommend getting a physical copy of the book so you can enjoy the artwork within!

The scenes with the children are early in the book and, while short and brief, are graphic.
