The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie

4.0

I have been reading my way through Agatha Christie’s mysteries chronologically and have been relieved to have some familiar characters cropping back up. As much as I love Poirot, I was ready for something different.

This is Miss Marple’s second novel and it is SO much less frustrating than the first. She is treated as a wise consultant as opposed to a crazy old woman. I got really tired of the snide, offensive comments about women in The Murder at the Vicarage.

As always, Miss Marple is a few steps ahead of everyone (including you) in this one. The mystery is complex and the characters are varied and interesting. It’s definitely worth a read.
