More to Give by Terri Osburn

I wasn't really sure how this story would pan out since the core group in this series had already gotten their stories told. Sure, we met Sam previously. But we didn't really get to know him. He wasn't really great friends with the others. And Callie is brand new to the island so the reader knows nothing about her.

I'm happy to say it worked. We learn enough about Sam to know why we didn't see him more in the previous books. Yet the story he shares with Callie humanizes him and allows the reader to care about him.

My heart ached for both Callie and Sam. There was so much misunderstanding in their relationship with each other. Usually when there is too much of that it will thoroughly annoy me. Of course there has to be some to make a good story, but authors do tend to go overboard at times. In this case, it's understandable. Their individual pasts and their shared history make it all the more complicated and therefore okay to have those misunderstandings.

I'm sad to learn this is the last of the Anchor Island books, but excited to see what Ms. Osburn has in story for us next.
