A Yorkshire Carol by Jennie Goutet

5.0

This lovely story can be called a Friends to Love story and a Second Chance romance. I've always thought that those must be two of the more difficult tropes to write because they are inherently less exciting than some of the other popular tropes. This story kept me engaged and rooting on the hero and heroine. It was well written and sweet. I appreciated the journey as the heroine began to understand what she truly wanted and what was in her heart. Particularly as she came to finally understand that compromise could make all the difference in the potential relationship. The supporting characters added extra interest to the story as well. There are some pretty interesting and unfamiliar names in this story...I can only assume that they are historical names from the area. This book was a lovely and undemanding read. Recommended.
