For One More Day by Mitch Albom
5.0
(TW⚠️ su*cide)
*another masterpiece by Mitch Albom*
For One More Day talks about how.. if you ever get a chance, one extra day, to meet someone you love who has gone, died? How many words unsaid, how many things undone, how many secrets untold, how many love unexpressed could be let out that day?
It is a fiction about a man, Charley "Chick" Benetto, who got depressed and drunk, and lost everything (his job, his family) since his mother died. He tried to kill himself twice and failed both times. That's when he was visited by his mother's "ghost", 8 years after she died.
The secrets revealed, the truths be told, finally a time with his mother that he has been avoiding since his father left the family.. when he was 9. It was hard for him to accept the reality when he has always been a daddy's boy playing baseball since he was little.
A very sad adventure and regretful journey of a son towards her mother, it made us realized how precious the moments we spent with our parents that we've been neglecting.
"And I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know."
