“To those who felt they could never say anything...this is your sign to speak up.”🤍

I am a huge of the Color Series so I was very excited for the latest installment: White Hole.

My nerdy heart was obsessed with this book the minute the title was released.  Stars wars (and even a few Firefly) references are all through the book. If you are a fan you are in for a treat!!

Kinsley is on her way to med school with a perfect GPA...except for one class: Astronomy.  After losing out on a tennis scholarship and admission to an Ivy League school for undergrad, she has to get an A in this class.  She has fought so hard to recover from a terrible accident caused by a drunk driver...even though no one believes her.  She is assigned a tudor who can hopefully help her get back to a perfect GPA - her bad luck continues when George Turner of all people shows up to help her.

George (AKA Big G) is a quiet guy who prefers to be left alone.  He has been through some trauma and finds keeping his mouth shut is the best way to move through life.  When he is assigned to help Kinsely, Miss can't stop talking, he is less than thrilled.

Their tutoring sessions don’t go so well…at first. They spend more time hating one another  than actually studying.

"You're a white hole....It's the opposite of a black hole.  Nothing gets in your brain.  You spew out whatever comes to your mind without a thought."

Kinsley and George, trying to outdo one another, start pranking each other back and forth, with the pranks continuing to escalate.  When Kinsely's tires are slashed and she is chased through a park she has had enough.  George swears it isn't him though.  If it's not George, is someone else out to get her?

Kinsley and George slowly start to get closer...maybe they don't hate each other after all?  George realizes he is connected to Kinsley's accident. With his ex-step mom blackmailing him, what will Kinsley do when she finds out?  Will she turn her back on him or will she help him?  If George has to decide between saving his family or saving Kinsley, who will he pick?

I had no idea how much I would love this book!!! Yes, I got all the spice that I was expecting plus a deeply emotional roller coaster. Kinsley and George are without a doubt one of my favorite couples ever. They had great banter and their chemistry was 🔥. They were both able to help each other start to heal from their traumas.

The most awkward cringe worthy three some ever happens in this book - I am telling you now, you aren’t ready for it!! (It is worse than Levi’s, and that is saying something.)

It is worth saying that there are some really difficult scenes in this book detailing abuse and trauma, but it is so important to recognize the damage that is done, and the way survivors are able to move forward. This book highlights how powerful believing a survivor is…both Kinsley and George dealt with trauma, but feeling like no one believed them made what they went through so much worse.

If you have zero triggers, and I do mean ZERO, there is an extended epilogue called Brown Bench. It is equal parts horrifying and diabolically amazing. You have been warned.
