The Fairy Tellers by Nicholas Jubber

adventurous funny informative inspiring lighthearted medium-paced

5.0

I loved this book! Nick Jubber tells a history like sharing a bit of gossip. Political intrigue, rags to riches, high society scuffles, romance and its inevitable heartbreak, in unmasking the writers behind some of the western world's most beloved fairy tales (ex. Hans Christian Anderson, Ivan Khudiakov, Dortchen Wild and her Grimm husband, to name a few), Jubber invites readers to share in their triumphs, trials, and tribulations; shrinking the shadows of giants to reveal ordinary men, and, more often than not, the women who supported them.
