The Lost Steps is the story of a New York composer who leaves his life and heads to the Amazonian jungle in search of the origin of music. I mostly enjoyed the prose which was intricate and descriptive, although I did find it a little dense at times. However, I wasn’t a fan of the protagonist nor of the “noble savage” vibes I got from the story.
