The more I read this series and the more I get attached to all the characters from the series. Seeing Lily and Lauren put so much effort into being better for each other, and for themselves. Seeing them battle their addiction, seeing them open to other people and seeing the positive outcome of Lauren being sober and Lily not consuming abusively sexe has brought into their lives is a beautiful thing to see.
I understand that addicts lie, and I understand that their friends and family have to be borderline rude and apply tough love and not fumble to support them and push them into getting better and wanting to get better, but the way Lau and Ryke made a bet on Lily was so demeaning. And they have been very demeaning toward Lily a lot of time, even more, in the past two books, and it's quite annoying and frustrating. Especially Ryke. He is better in this book, and he now treats Lily better, and I understand that he did that because he was protective of Lauren, but you can be protective and not be a complete piece of shit and a complete asshole toward someone who is also struggling.Β
The relationship between Ryke and Daisy really rob me the wrong way. I know that she is been physically described as having a really grown body but as a quote-on-quote legal adult of 21 years old, all the flirting and sexual undertone between Ryke and Daisy should have never happened. The author could have perfectly made a friend-to-lover relationship between Ryke and Daisy without all of that. An age gap of 5 years is completely fine when there is no minor involved. And yeah Lauren reprimanded Ryke and he is now only friends with Daisy, and nothing will probably happen until she is legally an adult, but all of that was very borderline and uncalled for, in my opinion. They could have had a cute simple friendship without all of that flirtation and sexually related anything.
Connor and Rose are so cute. I love them, nothing bad to say about their relationship.Β But all the scenes where they are arguing and the rest of the group are simply watching always get me like π§πΏββοΈπ§πΏπ§πΏββοΈ.Β

Graphic: Alcohol, Sexual content, and Vomit
The way they let a sixteen-year-old go to spring break with tone of alcohol and shitty drunk man, and tried to make it okay because they would keep an eye on her. But also tried to make girl Stephanie (or wtv her name was) look like an ass because she REFUSED to serve rhum cocktail to a MINOR (even if her intention were not all pur) made me gasp. Also how they dragged an alcoholic to a party animal destination also fucked with me. But all went for his throat went he vomited because they taught he drank while it was his alcohol-infused fish. Make it make sense.
When Lauren met his biological mom was heartbreaking. Like WOMEN, he did nothing to you. I get her, his dap took advantage of her while she was a minor, he SA her, she has all the right to resent him, but poor baby Laurent, that moment ... and how Lily consoled him. They really wanted me to cry.
