This Life I Live: One Man's Extraordinary, Ordinary Life and the Woman Who Changed It Forever by Rory Feek

Updated Review:

I gave this book a 5⭐️ rating.

“Her story. His story. The love story of Joey and Rory.”

I was given this book by a girl I babysit for and was a little weary on it since I’m not a huge nonfiction fan. I also didn’t really know much about this couple besides one song, Cheater Cheater, from my high school days.

I really enjoyed this book. If I’m honest this book is what started me on my own journey to learn more and become closer to God. Rory tells his own journey to God throughout this book and it just got me thinking and wanting a closer connection with my faith.

This book also made me look at my father in a new light. In one chapter Rory tells of his struggles being a parent and says that we are all just doing the best we can with what we have. That just hit me and made me appreciate all my father did for me as I was growing up. It also gave me a better outlook on how I parent my own kids and helped me not be as hard on myself during the difficult days of raising a toddler.
