The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner

4.0

It's not as good as the first, but only because the love story begins right as the book ends! I was shipping them the whole time, and her admission of love is the final line of the novel! What to heck Whalen Turner?! Other than that, it was a Greco-Roman inspired political thriller with actual stakes and pacing. Also, is it just her thing to start off in the lowest point of her protagonists? Why is it always in a dungeon? The first book took me a bit to get through because it was just post work-from-home, and the isolation felt way too real. This time was easier, though, not by much (if you read it, you'd know). It's still a fantastic story. It's definitely worth a read if you've only read the first. Onto the third!
