The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson

3.0

An engaging page-turner. I enjoyed how this begins as a rather straightforward modern take on the classic [b:Strangers on a Train|15677|Strangers on a Train|Patricia Highsmith|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1516177026s/15677.jpg|1187279] formula, but everything changes at the end of the first part and the story excitingly morphs into something completely different. The second part is equally interesting and nicely builds off of what has already been established, but the final portion is too short and doesn't quite measure up to the dark thrills that preceded it; I would have liked to get more insight into Kimball like Swanson provided for all of the other main characters.
