Heartbreaking. I am glad Sidda goes to therapy, but it is so hard to hear how they all basically try to sweep the past under the rug and pretend their trauma didn’t exist.

I don’t know how people have rated this lighthearted. There are a couple chapters near the beginning that are fun and free, like the summers at camp, but the farther the book goes the sadder it gets. And the more I found myself hoping there were no graphic descriptions coming up to describe the terrible things Vivi did.
I have so many questions about who knew what. Did Big Shep know what Vivi was doing to his kids? Did the Ya Yas know? Did Vivi abuse their kids? Did the Ya Yas all abuse their own children? Does Vivi have any idea that what she did was wrong?
