Principles: Life and Work by Ray Dalio

2.0

(Read as ebook)
What is it about?
It's a book of business advice/self-help from Ray Dalio, a founder of a private equity firm. It talks a bit about Dalio's background, how he uses his values/principals to inform his goals and tasks, and then rattles off a bunch of principals that are used at his firm.

What did I think?
It was alright. I like the idea of thinking of yourself or your business as a "machine" that you feed inputs in order to get outputs. If you're not getting the outputs you expect, you try to figure out why the "machine" isn't working.

The big list of principals wasn't very engaging, but some of them were interesting. I found the importance of getting "in sync" to be interesting, as well as a singular "responsible party".
