Adventures in the Unknown Interior of America by Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca, Cyclone Covey

5.0

Very Readable narrative of a 1530s exploration from Florida across to Northern Mexico, Central and North Central Texas, up into New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Southern Colorado area, looping back down into Mexico at the end. Original source detail on Indian tribes and customs from that era along with surprising detail on the diet they followed. That may sound boring, but of the well over 100 books I have read about early America almost nothing covered the detail included here. Recommended for anyone interested in the early Americas.
