I did not enjoy the book as much as I expected to based on the book title. The best stories in the collection, in my opinion, were the ones about the past, the one about the witch and the one about the pirate, (the one about the cockroach woman was also great, as was the one about de-cluttering your life) but others were either emotionally off-key for me or just flat out not interesting.
There also seems to be a focus on sex. And I get it, humans are sexual creatures and women are humans, but still. Stories about women should not be always focused on their relationship with sex and men. They have their own stories. The stories that exist independent of men and sex women have with those men.
Overall I am disappointed. I expected something punchy, worthy of the book title, and did not get it.
