This is an absolute can't miss and my favorite romance read so far this year. The characters are so vibrant and fully-formed and every second of interaction between the two leads was just delicious. It's so hard to get grumpy/sunshine dynamics right but Fairbanks has absolutely nailed it. I was smitten with Callum from the very beginning: he was so sensitive and sexy and I just adored him. And Lark was so fun to hang out with. There are too many memorable scenes in here to count.

This books deals with serious themes pertaining to grief, but never at the expense of the fun and romance: it simply makes the relationship between the two leads feel even more earned and special. The conflict felt realistic and the other things going on in the character's lives were entertaining to read as well.

Absolutely pick up this wonderful debut: otherwise you'll miss out on sparkly unitards, Irish dirty talk, plague rats, chess sex, star wars references, and one of the most morbidly marvelous books of the year. ❤️
