This was such an underwhelming read to me. I don't know. I just don't really have any feelings about it. It was such a big book, and it did nothing really memorable or special. I just feel like everything was so underdeveloped, and there was A LOT of telling and not showing. However, there was never a point in this book during which I really was not enjoying my time reading it. I overall did have fun, and I liked the premise of it. Depsite its size it also read relatively quickly.
My favourite part of this story was Scarlett's story around getting back into ballet, and the aftereffects of her accident even years later. I thought that was just really interesting. Asher's storyline with the pressure of his transfer and being seen as a traitor by people he used to care for was also interesting but I just had a hard time caring. I don't know. I know enough about the football world to know it was all very realistic but as someone who is also far enough from the football world it all just seemed so incredibly unnececarily dramatic. I don't know why though.
Overall, the romance wasn't bad. I just thought it was a bit insta-lovey and I never really bought it fully. Like I said before there was a lot of telling and not showing, and I think that kept me from fully getting invested in them as a couple. However, there truly wasn't anything in there that I actively disliked either.
