Now You See Her by Linda Howard

Very similar to Dream Man, though Now You See Her is a bit more readable and I preferred it. Both the heroines have some sort of inexplicable paranormal gift that makes them able to solve crimes. The heroes fall instantly in love, talking marriage after just a week of knowing the heroine. The hero in Dream Man was a cop, the hero in Now You See Her was in the army. Both heroines are loners, have little family, and are extremely introverted. They both are oblivious to men and have never been in a long term relationship until they meet the hero.

They're not bad books. Just, like I said, way too alike. I know, because I read Shades of Twilight, that Linda Howard can do better than this novel. So I'm going to continue to read through her backlist, but Now You See Her is definitely not a favorite. I don't like instant love connections and I prefer their be more focus on the romantic relationship in a romantic suspense than on the murder mystery.
