Alexa Crushed by T.R. Cupak

4.0

Alexa Crushed (Alexa Series Book 1) by T. Cupak is the first novel in the Alexa series that I gave 4 out of 5 stars. This story is written in first person POV by the main character, Alexa. This novel has all the feels: devastating blows, hope, frustration, anger, and elation. Such a wild ride on Alexa's journey through life.

Alexa Morgan has experienced a lifetime's worth of loss before she even enters adulthood. Her mother commits suicide when she's just a toddler, and her Dad and step-mom die tragically in an earthquake when she's only eighteen. Through all the tragedy, she has had a close friend to lean on-Devin. While she cherishes their friendship, he wants more. But Alexa doesn't see him that way, and when she tells him-the only person remaining in her life walks away. You can't help who you are attracted to, and Alexa isn't drawn to Devin-she is crushing on the bad boy next door. Older and much more experienced, Ethan has a revolving door of girlfriends. He's not much for having stable relationships, but Alexa in a moment of grief finds comfort in him. Then he's gone, and she is left alone yet again wondering why everyone in her life disappears. On the verge of giving up, Devin returns to be her calm in the midst of the storm. She sees him in a new light, but is it enough for her to take a chance on something more?

This was such an amazing wave of emotions! Being written in first person, you feel what Alexa is feeling through all the pain and loss. Read in one sitting, as I couldn't put it down. Such amazingly detailed characters, and fast paced story lines. From the start, it shows the tragic life she's had to live through. Many twists and turns, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel!
